Paint protection (PPF)

Protect your paintwork from stone chips, scratches and the elements with invisible Paint Protection Film.

Invisible protection for a perfect paint finish

Paint Protection Film (PPF) — also known as PPF film or paint protection film — is a transparent, self-healing polyurethane film that is applied directly to your car’s paintwork. The film protects against stone chips, scratches, insect residue, bird droppings and UV radiation, whilst the original paint colour and gloss remain fully visible. Ideal for new cars, modern classics and lease vehicles. PPF also combines perfectly with car wrapping — the wrap provides the colour, PPF provides the protection.

In 3 steps

How it works

1
Stap 1

Inspection & consultation

We’ll assess the condition of the paintwork and discuss which PPF package best suits your driving style, budget and vehicle.

2
Stap 2

Paint decontamination & polishing

The paintwork is thoroughly cleaned, degreased and, if necessary, polished. Any imperfections are corrected before the film is applied.

3
Stap 3

Precision application of PPF film

The PPF film is cut to size with precision and applied to the desired areas without any air bubbles. We work in a dust-free environment to ensure a perfect finish.

4
Stap 4

How does paint protection film work?

PPF film consists of several layers: a self-adhesive base layer, a wear-resistant polyurethane layer and a self-healing top layer. That top layer is the key: minor scratches and swirl marks ‘heal’ themselves when exposed to heat — from sunlight or a heat gun. The film is optically neutral and does not alter the colour or gloss of the paintwork. Once removed, the original paintwork remains in perfect condition. For the best adhesion, we recommend having the paintwork treated first via car detailing — that’s how you start with a flawless base.

Partial or full PPF — which is right for you?

PPF can be applied either partially or fully. The most popular partial packages are: front bumper + bonnet + headlights (the areas most vulnerable to stone chips), the entire front end, or just the headlight covers. A full-body PPF offers maximum protection and is popular for luxury vehicles, sports cars and EVs, where paintwork maintenance is expensive. We’d be happy to advise you on the best combination for your driving profile and budget.

PPF vs ceramic coating: combining them for the best results

PPF and ceramic coating are complementary solutions. PPF provides physical protection against impacts and scratches; ceramic coating provides a superhydrophobic top coat that repels dirt, water and UV rays. The combination — PPF as a base with a ceramic coating on top — is the highest level of paint protection available. WrapBaas offers both services and can put together a combined package for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How much does Paint Protection Film (PPF) cost?
The price depends on the surface area to be treated and the grade of film chosen. A partial package (front bumper + bonnet + headlights) starts at around €800. A full front end typically costs €1,200–2,000. Full-body PPF for a mid-range car costs between €3,500 and €6,500. Premium sports cars and SUVs may cost more. Request a bespoke quote.
What is the difference between PPF and ordinary film?
Standard wrap film is primarily intended for colour changes or aesthetic purposes. PPF (paint protection film) is a thick, transparent, self-healing film that has been specially developed to provide maximum physical protection for the paintwork. PPF is considerably thicker and tougher than decorative wrap film.
Can PPF also be applied to paintwork that is already damaged?
PPF captures the condition of the paintwork at the time of application. Any existing scratches, chips or matt patches will be sealed in and become more visible. It is therefore strongly recommended that you have the paintwork corrected first (polishing or paint correction). WrapBaas offers this as part of the PPF package.
How long does PPF film last?
High-quality PPF film from brands such as XPEL, 3M or SunTek lasts between 7 and 10 years and often comes with a manufacturer’s warranty. Its lifespan depends in part on maintenance and parking conditions.
Is PPF also suitable for my lease car?
Absolutely. PPF protects the paintwork throughout the lease term and prevents any charges from being applied when the vehicle is returned. The film is professionally removed before the vehicle is returned, without causing any damage to the original paintwork.
Can I combine PPF with a ceramic coating?
Yes, and many customers do this. PPF provides physical protection, whilst a ceramic coating adds an extra water-repellent and gloss-preserving layer on top. WrapBaas offers combined packages.
How long does it take to fit PPF?
A partial wrap (front) usually takes 1 working day. A full-body PPF takes 3 to 5 working days, depending on the vehicle and the complexity of the job.
How do I look after my car after having PPF fitted?
Wait at least 5 days after installation before washing. After that, use a pH-neutral shampoo and avoid directing high-pressure washers directly at the film lines. Annual professional cleaning will extend the product’s lifespan.
Does PPF film discolour over time?
Cheap PPF can yellow due to UV radiation. Premium films from reputable brands are UV-stable and come with a guarantee against yellowing. WrapBaas works exclusively with top-quality PPF brands.
In which region do you operate?
WrapBaas operates throughout the Netherlands. Please get in touch to check availability in your area and receive a quote within 24 hours.
