Lamp Smoking

Have your rear and/or headlights tinted for a sporty, dark look that matches the rest of your car.

An instantly sleeker and sportier look

Tinting headlights — applying smoke-coloured film to headlights and/or rear lights — is one of the most effective ways to transform the look of your car. The lightly tinted film tones down the white, red or orange hues of your lights and gives your car a darker, more monochromatic and sporty look. Combine it with a chrome delete for a fully realised dark-theme look. WrapBaas applies the smoke film professionally: cut precisely to the contours of your specific lamp.

Tinting the headlights or the rear lights — or both

Tinting your headlights instantly gives your car a more aggressive front end. Together with a matt car wrap It creates a consistent dark-theme look. Tinting rear lights is just as popular: the dark rear lights give your car a striking and polished rear end. Many customers opt for a combination of front and rear lights for a fully coordinated look. WrapBaas can advise you on the right tint percentage for your vehicle and your desired look.

Smoke film: light or dark — the choice is yours

We use smoke-tinted film in various shades: from a subtle light tint (20–30% reduction) to a deep smoke (60–70% reduction). A light tint creates a stylish effect whilst barely reducing light output. A darker tint creates a more dramatic look, but bear in mind that this is highly noticeable in daylight and reduces the visibility of the headlight at night. We always advise on legal limits and road safety.

Fully reversible and saves paint

Smoke film can be removed completely without damaging the bulb or the bulb housing. This makes it an ideal choice if you want to see how the look works, or if you want to be able to reverse the modification when selling the car or returning it at the end of a lease. The film also protects the original bulb housing from stone chips and UV-induced yellowing — just like Paint Protection Film protects your car’s paintwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How much does lamp-smoking cost?
Tinting rear lights starts at around €80–150 per set. Tinting headlights usually costs €100–200, depending on the size and complexity of the lights. A combination of front and rear lights costs between €180 and €350. Request a quote for your specific vehicle.
Is smoking cannabis legal in the Netherlands?
Light-coloured tints are tolerated in practice, but technically speaking, windscreen tints must comply with brightness regulations. A heavily tinted (dark) windscreen may cause problems during an MOT or inspection. WrapBaas advises on a tint that minimises the risk and advises against heavily tinted lights for everyday use.
Can the film be removed again?
Yes, the tinted film is completely removable. It does not damage the lamp glass or the housing. Removal usually takes 15–30 minutes per set.
Will my indicators still work properly after smoking?
Yes. Tinted film reduces brightness but does not block the light completely. Indicators, brake lights and daytime running lights continue to function normally, albeit at a slightly lower brightness.
What tint strength do you recommend?
For everyday use, we recommend a light to medium tint (20–40%). This creates an attractive visual effect without significantly affecting safety or the MOT test.
Can tinted film also be applied to headlights?
Yes, headlight tinting is just as popular as rear light tinting. We carefully tailor the film to the contours of your headlight for a clean, seamless finish.
How long does smoke film last?
High-quality smoke film lasts for 3 to 5 years under normal use. UV resistance depends on the film grade — we use UV-stable films to prevent yellowing.
Can I have just one lamp smoked?
That is possible, but not recommended if you want a symmetrical result. We always advise working in sets (left and right) to ensure a consistent look.
How long does the treatment take?
Tinting rear lights or headlights usually takes 1 to 2 hours per set. A full set of front and rear lights can be ready on the same day.
Are you available in my area?
WrapBaas operates throughout the Netherlands. Please get in touch to check availability in your area and receive a quote within 24 hours.
