Ceramic & Glass Coating

Long-lasting protection with a high-gloss ceramic coating. Water-repellent, dirt-repellent and scratch-resistant.

The ultimate protection for your paintwork

Ceramic coating — also known as glass coating or ceramic sealant — is a liquid polymer layer that chemically bonds to your car’s paintwork. The result is a hard, water-repellent protective layer that repels dirt, water, UV radiation and minor scratches. Unlike wax or sealant, ceramic coating is semi-permanent: once applied, it provides protection for years with minimal maintenance. Ceramic coating can also be applied to a car wrap — this extends the film’s lifespan and makes the wrap easier to keep clean.

In 3 steps

How it works

1
Stap 1

Inspection & quotation

We assess the condition of the paintwork and recommend the appropriate coating product. You will receive a clear quote that includes the preparatory work.

2
Stap 2

Paint decontamination & polishing

Thorough cleaning, claying and machine polishing to ensure the paintwork is flawless before coating. Paint correction if necessary.

3
Stap 3

Applying a ceramic coating

The ceramic coating is applied and cured by hand, layer by layer. This requires precision and a dust-free environment.

4
Stap 4

Curing & handover

Once the curing time has elapsed (24–48 hours), the car is handed over along with a maintenance guide and a warranty certificate.

How does ceramic coating work?

Ceramic coating consists of nanoparticles of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) or titanium dioxide (TiO₂) which penetrate deep into the paintwork’s surface and form a ceramic shield. This shield is extremely hard (9H on the scratch scale), water-repellent (hydrophobic) and UV-resistant. Dirt and water slide off the surface, making the car much easier to keep clean and ensuring it retains its appearance for longer.

Glass coating vs. ceramic coating: what’s the difference?

The terms ‘glass coating’, ‘ceramic coating’, ‘nano coating’ and ‘ceramic coating’ are often used interchangeably in practice. They all describe the same principle: a thin, hard protective layer based on silicates. Differences in quality lie in the SiO₂ content, hardness and lifespan — ranging from entry-level products (1–2 years) to professional coatings (3–5 years or more). WrapBaas works exclusively with professional, top-brand coatings. For physical protection against stone chips and deep scratches, Paint Protection Film (PPF) a great addition to a ceramic coating.

Preparation: the key to a perfect result

A good coating starts with thorough preparation. The paintwork is first decontaminated (to remove clay and iron particles), then machine-polished to eliminate swirl marks and scratches. We only apply the coating to a perfect paint finish — so that any imperfections are not trapped beneath the coating. This preparatory work is also included in our range of car detailing and can be combined as an optional package.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How much does a ceramic coating cost?
The price depends on the type of vehicle, the condition of the paintwork and the product chosen. For a passenger car, including preparation (decontamination + polish), you can expect to pay between €500 and €1,500. Request a no-obligation quote for an exact price.
How long does a ceramic coating last?
Professional ceramic coatings last between 3 and 5 years, depending on the product, driving habits and maintenance. Entry-level products last 1–2 years. WrapBaas uses professional premium brands to ensure maximum durability.
What is the difference between glass coating and ceramic coating?
In practice, glass coating, ceramic coating, nano coating and ceramic coating are synonyms for the same principle: a hard silicate layer on the paintwork. Differences in quality lie in the product used, the SiO₂ content and the hardness.
Does the car need to be polished before applying a ceramic coating?
Yes, almost always. Imperfections in the paintwork — such as swirl marks, minor scratches or oxidation — will be sealed in if you apply a coating without polishing. We assess the condition of the paintwork and advise on the necessary preparatory work.
Is a ceramic coating also worth it for new cars?
A coating is particularly valuable for new cars. It protects the paintwork from UV rays, dirt and swirl marks right from day one. This helps keep the car looking as good as new and ensures it retains its value better.
Can I have my wrapped car coated as well?
Yes, ceramic coating can also be applied to a car wrap. This extends the life of the film and makes it easier to keep clean. Ask us about the options.
How do I look after my car after it’s been coated?
Use a pH-neutral car wash product and, ideally, wash by hand or in a brushless car wash. Avoid directing a high-pressure jet directly at the edges and do not use wax or sealant — this is unnecessary and may reduce the effectiveness of the coating.
How long should I wait before driving or washing the car after the coating has been applied?
After applying the coating, the car must be left to cure for at least 24–48 hours in a covered, dust-free environment. We recommend limiting contact with water for the first 7 days.
Is ceramic coating also suitable for wheel rims, windows and the interior?
Yes. As well as paintwork, we can also apply a ceramic coating to alloy wheels (to protect against brake dust and heat), glass (water-repellent for better visibility) and certain interior components. Ask about the full package.
